In this role, you will work on the development of subsystems linked to advanced defense systems. You will work at the system level with a focus on requirements, concepts, technical trade-offs, and design solutions that must function throughout the entire product lifecycle. The role covers both new development and further development of existing solutions and takes place in close collaboration with other technical areas.

You will design components and structures in various materials, such as steel, aluminum, and composites. Additive manufacturing is also used in parts of the development work. CAD is a natural part of the role, but the focus lies on the holistic view, coordination, and ensuring that solutions are manufacturable, verifiable, and maintainable over time.

• Develop mechanical subsystems from requirements and concepts to final design solutions

• Design load-bearing structures, control and installation details, and integrate electronics-proximate components

• Prepare technical documentation such as models, drawings, installation documentation, and other design documentation

• Coordinate technical interfaces and maintain dialogue with other disciplines as well as functions such as production, procurement, quality, and verification

• Contribute to ensuring solutions are adapted for manufacturability, industrialization, and long service life

• Actively participate in project work, technical forums, and development of working methods, as well as support junior colleagues in their development

We are looking for you who are an educated engineer in mechanical engineering, mechanics, product development, or a similar field. Alternatively, you have built up equivalent competence through extensive professional experience. You have at least five years of experience working as a mechanical designer and are accustomed to working in a CAD environment.

It is meritorious if you have experience with CAD tools such as CATIA, DELMIA, or 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX). Experience with lightweight structures in materials such as aluminum or composites is also valuable, as is knowledge in design for additive manufacturing (AM/3D printing). If you have also previously held a leadership role – such as team lead, technical leader, or equivalent – this is also seen as an asset.

To enjoy and succeed in the role, it is important that you have excellent collaboration skills and are both communicative and pedagogical in your way of working. You are social and appreciate discussing and exchanging ideas with colleagues from different disciplines. You are not afraid to ask questions when something is unclear and have an open attitude where you are happy to share your knowledge and help others.

The position is security classified and requires you to be approved in a security clearance. In connection with this, requirements for certain citizenship may apply.

Salary: Fixed monthly salary
